Biography
Russ's practice concentrates on patent and trade secret litigation with relating counseling. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of industries in litigation throughout the country. Russ's experience spans the entire lifecycle of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through appeal to the Federal Circuit.

Russ's practice and experience is not narrowly defined by industry. With an educational background in Chemistry and Mathematics, Russ has represented clients in a large variety of industries. He has represented clients in industries as varied as hedge funds and biomedical devices to nutraceuticals and agricultural equipment. This breadth of experience provides an important perspective on how best to explain complex technologies to generalists like Judges and Juries.

Russ is also actively engaged in pro bono work through his work with the Federal Public Defender's office in the District of Minnesota. He has dedicated hundreds of hours to representing indigent criminal clients in Federal District Court.

Before joining CCVL, Russell clerked for the Honorable R.A. Randall of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
