Biography Jeff is a litigator who advises and represents clients in intellectual property matters, particularly in life sciences areas. Having obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and practiced as a pharmacist before attending law school, Jeff has represented some of the world’s largest generic pharmaceutical companies in generic pharmaceutical ANDA patent litigation. Experience includes successfully opposing a preliminary injunction motion that would have prevented a generic pharmaceutical company client from launching its generic drug in the United States, permitting client to launch its drug into a market of $2 billion in sales annually. Jeff has also obtained settlements for his generic drug clients permitting them early entry into various markets. Jeff has also represented clients in other technologies, including the software, medical device, and various mechanical arts. In addition to litigating patent disputes, Jeff has also litigated trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters.
Jeff has made it a regular part of his practice to volunteer his time for legal-related causes. He has performed hundreds hours of pro bono work, served on the boards of directors for the Volunteer Lawyers Network and the Fund for the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, and taught as an adjunct professor for the University of Minnesota Law School’s Intellectual Property Moot Court.
In 2007, 2008 and 2009 Jeff was named a “Super Lawyer” by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine. In 2010 Jeff was named a “Super Lawyer” in the new publication, Minnesota Super Lawyers magazine.
